FRESH off securing his maiden Repco Supercars Championship podium, Jaxon Evans will seek to keep the momentum rolling all the way into Bathurst.

The Kiwi combined with Walkinshaw TWG Racing’s Ryan Wood to place third in the AirTouch 500 at The Bend last Sunday.

That made Evans the 164th podium-getter in ATCC/Supercars Championship history, and put to bed demons from a relatively fruitless two-year spell full-time at Brad Jones Racing/SCT.

Now it’s straight onto the next task, with this weekend’s GT World Challenge Australia round at Sydney Motorsport Park the second of five successive race meetings he’s embarking on.

Then will come the Shanghai 8 Hours, then a GT World Challenge Asia event in Beijing, and then the Repco Bathurst 1000 across October 8-11.

Clear As Mud! | The Undercut

THE Undercut returns, breaking down the latest news in the world of Supercars racing!

It’s the kind of schedule that has Evans satisfied with his new modus operandi in life after full-time Supercars.

“No, at the moment I’m really happy,” said the 30-year-old, when asked if he’s eyeing a full-time return to Supercars.

“This year I took a bit of a step back in terms of when I was planning my seasons and what I could be racing in other avenues.

“Coming from GT cars, it’s something that I love to do. I enjoy driving a Supercar and I enjoy being part of this team, so at the moment I’m just focusing on that.

“If something comes in the following months, it’s something I would consider, but at the moment I’m really happy with the balance between GT and Supercars enduros.”
