BMW PGA Championship: Ryan Fox in contention ahead of final round at Wentworth

Ryan Fox will go into the final round of the BMW PGA Championship well in contention, sitting three shots off the lead.

The Kiwi golfer sat in a tie for 11th after three rounds at 10-under-par after carding a two-under 70 in a tricky penultimate round at the Wentworth Club
in Surrey, UK.

Playing alongside Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy for the third time in as many rounds of the DP World Tour’s pinnacle tournament, Fox made a clutch birdie on the par-five 18th to set himself up for a big finish to the tournament.

“It was tough. The wind was so gusty. [I] felt like I hit a lot of decent shots that didn’t end up where I thought they were going to end up,” he said of his round.

“I made a couple of nice par putts to keep it going on the front nine and then when you feel like you can score on [the] back nine, it just became hard to hit the ball close. I’m glad I snuck one in there on the last, even though I didn’t hit a very good second shot. I’m still in the hunt, at least.”
