New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and President Donald Trump have just been holding talks in the Big Apple.
Mamdani said he invited the president to his official residence, Gracie Mansion, while Trump is in town for the United Nations General Assembly this week.
Their closed-door discussions covered affordable housing and immigration in the city.
Talking to media after they wrapped up Trump, standing next to Mamdani, addressed his ban on certain media outlets from the White House, calling it an “obligation.“
“I have an obligation not to allow them into another very special house,” Trump said. “The White House is the most special of all houses.“
Mamdani said he told Trump that he was going to have all members of the media present, even as the president has banned CNN, Politico and MS NOW from the White House.
“I told the president that we’re going to have all of the members of the press here on the lawn, and that is something that I believe in.”
