Actress Lily-Rose Depp is attached to portray a Playmate in an upcoming movie about the infamous Playboy Mansion, aptly titled Playmate.
The coming-of-age film will mark the directorial debut of Lorraine Nicholson – the daughter of A-lister Jack Nicholson – with Depp taking on the role of Anna, a fictional resident at the Playboy Mansion who is gunning for the coveted title of Playmate of the Month.

Depp’s character will reportedly cross paths with a fictionalised version of Playboy’s founder Hugh Hefner who will be played by actor Bill Pullman, but it’s reported the movie will focus more closely on an unlikely female friendship that forms within the mansion.
An official synopsis for Playmate reads: “Elle, a thirteen-year-old know-it-all who considers the Playboy Mansion her second home, meets Anna, one of seven hopefuls vying to be Playmate of the Month. The two form an unlikely friendship and try to help each other get what the other wants most, a magazine cover and a boy.”
Alongside the director credit, Nicholson is also penning the Playmate script, which is loosely based on her own experiences visiting the Playboy Mansion as the daughter of an acting icon who frequently appeared at the Los Angeles celebrity hotspot.
“From the year I was born, 1990, until I was about 11, I went to the Playboy Mansion, because that’s where my friends were,” Nicholson recalled in a 2024 Vanity Fair essay.
Before that, former Playboy cover star Pamela Anderson claimed she once walked in on Jack Nicholson having a threesome in the Playboy Mansion, saying The Shining star had “two beautiful women with him” who were “sliding all over each other.”
Meanwhile, Depp – the daughter of actor Johnny Depp – will take on the Playboy bunny character after an equally provocative role in the 2023 series The Idol, which was created by musician The Weeknd and garnered controversy over its sexually explicit content.
In the show, Depp played an aspiring pop star who romances The Weeknd’s cult leader character, with viewers outraged over graphic scenes of masturbation, choking and whipping.
More recently, Depp appeared in the gothic horror film Nosferatu and The King, starring opposite former boyfriend Timothée Chalamet.
A release date for Playmate has not yet been announced.
