One of the pillars of early 2000s garage rock revival, The Strokes return to Australia in 2027.

After their one-off appearance at Harvest Rock in Adelaide last year – which we described ‘with a back catalogue as heavenly as The Strokes, seeing them live only reinforces their greatness’ – the New York band will headline concerts in Brisbane, Melbourne (two concerts) and Sydney next February.

Courtney Barnett and Promiseland join the tour at all dates, while Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Beck will also appear at the Sydney Summertime outdoor concert date.

In July The Strokes released ‘Reality Awaits’, their long-awaited seventh studio album following 2020’s ‘The New Abnormal’, which won Best Rock Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

The band again worked with longtime collaborator Rick Rubin, the vast majority of the project recorded in Costa Rica. It led to an appearance at Coachella as well as dates headlining slots at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and Japan’s Summer Sonic 2026.

Indie rock superstar Courtney Barnett makes a long-awaited return to the spotlight with new album ‘Creature Of Habit’ in tow.

Rounding out the line-up is Promiseland, the high-energy project of Johann Rashid, signed to Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records and known for his explosive live performances.

Tickets on sale from 1pm (local time) on 29 September.
