Taylor Lautner and his wife Tay have welcomed their first child into the world with a sweet social media post that revealed their little one’s name after much anticipation from fans.
The famous couple announced the arrival of their daughter on Instagram, who was born on September 16, with a photo of her that concealed her face.
Her name was revealed as Lennon Taylor Lautner.
“One week loving our sweet little Lenny,” the couple wrote in the post’s caption.
The Lautners’ celebrity friends soon filled the comments section with joyful messages and excited reactions.
Taylor’s Twilight co-star Nikki Reed said: “Oh, be still my heart. Congratulations to you both; I’m so, so happy for you. Baby Lenny, Auntie Nik is ready to give you all the snuggles.”
Jaclyn Hill said: “Lennon Lautner is truly the coolest name.”
Dance Moms star Kenzie Ziegler said: “Omg so happy for you.”
Also offering messages of congratulations were the official Twilight Instagram account, Twilight actress Mackenzie Foy, Alex Cooper, Jimmy Fallon and actress Anna Cathcart.
The name reveal comes after Tay said last month they were considering naming their baby girl Taylor.
“It may be in the mix,” she told Cooper on her podcast Call Her Daddy. “We will find out when the baby comes.”
Tay said fans were in support of the pair naming their newborn after themselves and had been feeling “so much pressure naming a human”.
“I feel like if I don’t name my baby Taylor, the internet’s literally going to cancel me,” she said.
“I’m going to get cancelled.
“But I’m like, guys, are you really going to want that name?”
Also this week, Tay gave her 1.6 million fans a sneak peek into Lennon’s sweet nursery created by Pottery Barn Kids and featured a white cot kitted out in floral bedding.
In an Instagram video, the charming nursery was seen fitted out with pastel coloured decor, a pink armchair and gorgeous pregnancy photos of the couple.
“Favourite room in the house,” Taylor wrote in the comments section.
The couple celebrated their little girl at a pink baby shower of Tay’s dreams in early August.
