THE Supercar with which Team Kiwi Racing will make its grand return at Bathurst has quite the history of highs, lows and points of differences.
Next month’s Mount Panorama round will be TKR’s first Super2 round since 2010, and it has been even longer since the squad appeared at main game level.
The outing is a one-off for now, with Brendon Leitch driving a Holden ZB Commodore leased from Image Racing.
The chassis is EMH02, built new by Erebus Motorsport for David Reynolds to campaign in the 2018 Supercars Championship.
It tasted plenty of success that year, chalking up race wins at Albert Park, Hidden Valley and Newcastle – not to mention a near-miss at Bathurst where Reynolds was on track to win until being afflicted by cramping issues.
Reynolds remained aboard the car into the following season, leading Erebus to another strong result in the drivers’ championship (sixth).
The car then had a breather for 2020 before being redeployed for Will Brown after the rookie crashed heavily (in EMH04) on solo debut at the 2021 Mount Panorama 500.
That paved the way for EMH02 to be connected to two of the biggest moments in the early phase of Brown’s career: his breakthrough victory at Sydney Motorsport Park (November 2021) and an enormous shunt at Pukekohe (September 2022) following controversial contact with Mark Winterbottom.

After seeing out the season, the chassis was parked up until being repaired to be raced by Max Geoghegan in the 2025 Super2 Series.
It finished the year being driven by NASCAR young gun Jesse Love in Adelaide.
The car has made one appearance this season, underpinning the debuts of team Apogee Motorsport and driver Rossi Johnson in Darwin.
