Footage shows AFL history would have looked very different if not for a contentious action by Lions hero Zac Bailey late in Saturday’s Grand Final.

Fremantle was blasted out of the water in the final frenzied minutes of the contest where the Lions completed a three-peat with four late goals.

The second of those goals came from Bailey’s boot with the Brisbane superstar conjuring something from nowhere with a snapping goal that cut the margin to less than a goal.

It was Brisbane’s second goal inside a minute following Fremantle’s infamous “Wharfie Time” farce.

Ex-Lions player's new angle of Bailey goal

Footage from the live broadcast showed Bailey shrugged off Caleb Serong off as they crashed into each other for a loose ball inside the Lions’ 50m arc.

Bailey was the winner of the contest, scooping up the ball and sending Serong flying backwards all in one clean motion.

The 27-year-old then turned around and kicked a famous goal while Serong was left with his hands in the air complaining.

Footage shows Serong was right to question the decision.

Bailey appeared to give his opponent a shove in the face as he exploded out of the tackle.

Another angle of the moment shared by former Lions player Mitch Robinson also showed Serong’s head appear to snap back.

Various videos of the moment have spread across cyberspace in the 24 hours after the game, with many Freo fans wanting an explanation.

They won’t get one.

The Lions went on to record a famous victory with Logan Morris kicking two late goals to break Fremantle fans’ hearts.
