It’s a room reveal episode, with the teams presenting their rumpus room and laundries, but the dominating theme isn’t judging but a new feud, this one between Adam and Wyatt.

Wyatt, having apologised to Jolene for standing in her carport with his hands on his hips, has been stewing on the accusation that he is “intimidating”, and when Adam and Jolene’s plumber comes to ask Wyatt and Chantel’s tilers the Cursios to borrow a particular tool that only they have, Wyatt’s not inclined to be helpful.

Wyatt thinks Adam should have had the gumption to come and ask himself “but apparently he wouldn’t because I intimidated his wife or girlfriend or whatever she is”.

“If you want to borrow something come and ask me. We would have lent it until we heard he’s been running his mouth the whole time. Adam just took Jolene’s word and ran with it.”

When Chantel and Wyatt are asked by a producer if Wyatt is intimidating he argues “we’ve been followed around by cameras 24/7. If I was an intimidating person you’d be seeing a lot of that happening”.

So when Wyatt sees Adam on site he’s ready to get some things off his chest.

“I don’t like the way you and Jolene have been carrying on about me,” he says.

“You came in here and were standing over her,” Adam claims. “She felt intimidated by you.”

“I feel intimidated by you snooping through my house,” Wyatt counters, referring to Adam’s own habit of wandering freely through the site.

The argument ends with Adam saying “settle down mate, f**king pinhead” as he walks back to his own house.

Later Adam and Jolene are asked by producers about their take on the whole situation, with Adam seemingly of an inclination to give Wyatt some benefit of the doubt.

“He has an intimdating persona, he’s big. There’s been things in my past that have had that same feeling of intimidation, a previous relationship was a little bit toxic and this interaction with Wyatt has been a little bit triggering and kind of put me back in that spot. I probably got a little bit overwhelmed,” Jolene says.

“Do you think that he realises that?” Adam asks.

“No, I don’t believe that he realises that,” Jolene acknowledges, while adding that she still doesn’t think her reaction was over the top.

“I think in my opinion it was very much justified because of how it made me feel. It’s not something I like to revisit.”

With the bad blood still lingering, it’s on to the judging.

Adam and Jolene have spent $33,830 on their rooms, with a curved white lounge, sliding entry door, marble bench running below a TV with soundbar plus a hidden kitchenette with fridge, sink and coffee maker plus a gym machine in a corner. Their laundry has a drying cupboard.

The judges declare their efforts fine, but they don’t like their choice of wallpaper — a giant photograph of a nearby beach.

“I don’t think this elevates the room,” is Darren Palmer’s assessment.

Chantel and Wyatt have spent $26,605 for an all white rumpus room which Marty Fox calls “just a second TV room”, only one minus a coffee table or side tables.

“It’s not selling the dream,” Shaynna Blaze says.

Their laundry on the other hand gets high praise though the styling with a coffee table book raises eyebrows.

“Are you going to read a book in a laundry?” Shaynna asks.

Lisa and Rosco’s laundry

Lisa and Rosco have spent $29,105. They have chosen a brown couch and have placed their cabinetry on another wall, opening up extra space. They have an arched kitchenette and marble coffee table and in their laundry, a showstopping robot vacuum cleaner with its own hideaway hatch.

“It feels casual but still high-end,” is Shaynna’s assessment of their efforts.

Courtney and Sev’s $26,939 room gets them the win with its u-shaped furniture arrangement, kitchette, bronze mirror, backlit shelving, acoustic panelling and mini dishwasher for glasses.

“This feels like a cocoon,” Marty says. “It’s amazing.”

“I’m besotted with every single decision,” Darren Palmer says. “This is hands down my favourite room on The Block thus far.”

he only thing that lets them down is a small piece of missing skirting in the laundry, which Darren stands in front of and urges the other judges to pretend they didn’t see.

Even with the missing skirting the girls get two perfect tens, from Darren and Marty.

Rick and Tayla have spent $39,029 with a curved olive couch, circular mirror and kitchette.

They’ve placed their TV on the smallest wall, a layout none of the judges like.

Shaynna declares the coffee table too small, the pendants wrong, the rug too small and the artwork too high.

Darren is kinder.

“I don’t think it’s a bad room, I just think we’ve seen excellent rooms today,” he says.

He also thinks their laundry is perfect.
