A SPECIAL range of artwork commemorating Peter Brock’s legacy has been launched ahead of the Repco Bathurst 1000.

Australian artist David Bromley is behind the collection, having partnered with Supercars and the Brock family on the project which has produced 15 originals and seven limited-edition prints.

The hero original piece is being auctioned, starting this morning, in support of the Starlight Children’s Foundation. It alone has a recommended retail price of $21,000.

Other items will be displayed as part of the Brock Experience during next week’s Mount Panorama event and are available to be purchased.

“I am delighted and honoured to launch this collection and appropriately pay tribute to both a motorsport legend and an Australian icon,” said Bromley.

“I aimed to create a new way for his loyal fans to engage with his story while also showcasing his achievements to new audiences through the very powerful and emotive medium of art.”

Brock’s daughter Alexandra has given a glowing endorsement: “I’m so happy that such a talented artist has been chosen to depict my father and his colourful career, these works really capture a sense of his spirit and the place he held in this sport.

“David’s artwork captures dad’s life in unique, rich detail, and we couldn’t be happier to be part of the collection that we know aficionados will savour.

“These pieces will make a stunning statement no matter where they are displayed.”

Supercars acting CEO Barclay Nettlefold said: “The Repco Bathurst 1000 is where Peter Brock’s connection with generations of fans was established, making it the ideal place to showcase this collection.

“It is a privilege for Supercars to collaborate with David and the Brock family on a project that will give fans a new way to connect with the King of the Mountain and his impact on Australian motorsport.

“These works need to be seen in person to be properly appreciated, and we look forward to putting them on show at part of the Brock Experience next week in Bathurst.”
