TRIPLE Eight has gone to the market in search of adding to its brains trust.
The Ford homologation team yesterday posted a job listing on Seek for a full-time Supercars race engineer.
A candidate with “demonstrated professional motorsport experience in an engineering capacity” is being sought.
It’s an interesting development, not only for the fact that it’s a coveted gig as one of the most pivotal roles at the most successful team in Supercars history.
Triple Eight only recently underwent a rather sudden restructuring following the Repco Sprint Cup finale at Queensland Raceway, with Will Brown’s title-winning engineer Andrew Edwards promoted to head of performance and David Cauchi drafted in as his direct replacement.
Cauchi though is only working for Triple Eight on a part-time basis as he simultaneously continues to be chief operating officer of the DMH Group.
He is contracted to Triple Eight until the end of the year, as it stands.
Other core members of the Brisbane juggernaut’s brains trust include Pete Ringwood (technical director), Martin Short (Broc Feeney’s race engineer) and Isaac Baldry (Jackson Walls’ race engineer).
Dick Johnson Racing has also recently put up advertisements for a data/performance engineer and a number two mechanic.
