Energy giant Origin has pulled the plug on a huge proposed wind farm in northern NSW after a major increase in the cost of building the technology forced the company to consolidate its shrinking pipeline of renewables assets.
Origin told local groups this week it would “exit” its proposed 870 megawatt Skye Ridge wind project near Walcha, just over two years after it acquired the asset from renewable energy developer Walcha Energy.
