The college football season is finally here.

Week Zero had a little bit of drama considering there were only five games on the slate.

The first game between Iowa State and Kansas State certainly didn’t disappoint, even if it started off a little sloppy. The teams combined for four fumbles in an ugly first half before they both found traction offensively in the second half. In the end, a clutch fourth-down conversion on a pass from ISU’s Rocco Becht to Carson Hansen put the game on ice in a 24-21 Cyclones win.

UNLV survived a scare in Dan Mullen’s debut at home against FCS Idaho State. The Rebels were in trouble in the second half before rallying late to put away the Bengals, 38-31. UNLV RB Jai’Den Thomas carried the Rebels with 147 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries.

Later, Jalon Daniels and Kansas had no trouble dispatching Fresno State. The savvy quarterback completed 90% of his passes (18 of 20) for 176 yards and three touchdowns. He added another 47 rushing yards in a dominant 31-7 win over the Bulldogs.
