Fitness influencer and former Bachelor contestant Sam Wood is due to face court this morning on several domestic violence charges following his arrest in Noosa on the weekend.

Mr Wood was arrested after police were called to a property on the Hastings Street beachfront on Saturday night amid reports of domestic violence.

Police yesterday charged Mr Wood with the domestic violence offence of assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting.

The 46-year-old Victorian was refused bail, and is due to face Maroochydoore Magistrates Court this morning.

Mr Wood found fame on the 2015 season of The Bachelor and has since become the face of a home fitness program.

In a statement posted to social media this morning, wife Snezana Wood said the family was cooperating with authorities.

“This is a difficult time for all of us, we are working through this as a family,” she said.
