Massive Russian airstrikes targeted industrial and port infrastructure in Ukraine’s Odesa region, Governor Oleh Kiper said on the Telegram messaging app on Monday.
All the fires caused had been extinguished, he added. Separately, Russia said it had struck two Ukrainian cargo vessels in the Black Sea.

Earlier, Russia said it would intensify attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure following a vow from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to double down on strikes against oil refineries, a day after Moscow’s foreign ministry warned that diplomats and foreign officials in Kyiv were in “mortal danger”.
“The Russian armed forces will intensify strikes against military and military-industrial facilities, as well as related infrastructure in Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine,” the Russian Defence Ministry said on Sunday on Telegram.
The ministry cited comments Zelensky made in an interview with Reuters published on Sunday, in which the Ukrainian president said his country had to respond to attacks on energy infrastructure by targeting Russian oil refiners, which “gives money to them for this war”.
