GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Freshman Women’s Tennis player Allegra Korpanec Davies is headed to The Sports & Entertainment Capital of the World this week to take part in the Lake Las Vegas Open from October 5-11.
The London, England native is one of 16 players already accepted into the singles main draw which begins Tuesday, October 6 at The Lake Las Vegas Sports Club in Henderson, Nev. Nearly three dozen additional players will work their way through Qualifying on Monday, October 5 to join them.
Ranked No. 98 in the country, Korpanec Davies went 2-2 at the ITA All-American Championships in late September, with both wins coming against nationally-ranked competition. That included a three-set, come-from-behind victory over Texas A&M’s Lexington Reed (No. 60) in the main stage of the qualifying draw.
