Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a meeting scheduled with King Charles that is set to take place before Christmas, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke, 42, and Duchess of Sussex, 45, along with their children Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, reunited with the monarch, 77, and his wife, Queen Camilla, 79, at Highgrove House in July, marking the first time the family had seen each other in four years.

However, the King is yet to meet with Harry and Meghan since they relocated with their children to the United Kingdom in August.

Now, an insider has revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been squeezed into the monarch’s very busy schedule, which is a “significant” sign that the father and son’s relationship is on the mend.

“This is not a casual ‘let’s get together sometime,’” a royal source told Rob Shuter for his Naughty But Nice Substack blog, adding: “Nobody drops in on the King.

“If Harry and Meghan are in Charles’s diary, it is because he wants them there. This is deliberate.”

A second insider similarly emphasised how important it was that Harry and Meghan were getting a second meeting with the King.

“Charles is making room for his son again, and Harry knows how significant that is,” they told Shuter.

However, while relations between the Sussexes and the King seem to be looking up, the same can’t be said for Harry and his brother, Prince William, 44.

According to an insider, the Duke of Sussex has tried to reach out to his estranged sibling since moving back to Britain, but the Prince of Wales has not responded.

“There is no meaningful communication with William or Catherine. Charles is willing to move forward. William is not,” they shared.

News of a reunion comes after what has been a rollercoaster two months for the Sussexes and King Charles.

The monarch released a bombshell statement last month clarifying Harry and Meghan’s positions within the Royal Family, noting that there would be “no change” to their current status and that they are to be treated as “private citizens with commercial and charitable interests”.

The Sussexes were reportedly blindsided by the release of the King’s statement, with a spokesperson saying at the time: “We were a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance.”

To add fuel to the fire, Prince Harry’s uncle released a memoir detailing the fraught relationship between the late Princess Diana and then-Prince Charles.

Earl Spencer’s Swan Song: Diana My Sister contained a number of damaging claims about the King, including that he sounded “giddily elated” when he called to speak to Spencer following Princess Diana’s untimely death.

Elsewhere in the tome, he claimed that Charles told him, “We’ll forget Diana soon enough,” in another bitter phone call.

Buckingham Palace issued a pointed response to the excerpt, which expressed that “His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason”.

Prince Harry has not publicly commented on the controversial book, but his uncle has alleged that he informed both the Duke and his brother William about the tome prior to its release.

“I told them [at] exactly the same time. And I can say that Harry is completely fine about it,” Spencer said.

He went on to claim that the only concern the Duke of Sussex had was whether the memoir included “anything embarrassing” about him.
