i98FM still rules the roost as the station most listened to in the latest Xtra Insights survey for Wollongong (+0.9 to 26.5%), ahead of WAVE FM and ABC Illawarra.

i98FM’s Christian McEwan and Bella Leone (pictured main) extended their lead as the Illawarra’s #1 Breakfast team, surging 3.4 to a commanding 28%, and also boosting their cumulative audience to the tune of 9,200 listeners.

Nath in Workdays held steady, scoring 25.6% in Mornings and 28.6% in Afternoons.

i98FM’s long-standing Drive Show with Maje also remained steady on 26.5%.

“These numbers prove that placing the local community first truly works,” said General Manager of WIN Radio, Tia Davis. “Our team brings unmatched energy and heart to the station every single day, striving to represent the Illawarra both on and off the air. To see our listeners repay that commitment by keeping i98FM at the top for over two decades is an honour we never take for granted.”

ARN’s WAVE FM saw increases across all dayparts – with Lyndal and Crammy recording the station’s highest ever Breakfast result (+2.9 to 25.8%)

Mornings with Beau went up 4.2 to 24.3%, Afternoons with Deano rose 0.8 to 24.3% and Drive with Mick went up 3.2% to 24.5%.

Amy Collett, WAVE FM Content Director, said “I’m absolutely thrilled with today’s results. It’s amazing to see the content teams hard work has paid off. Wave 96.5 now has the most listeners in the Illawarra and both Lyndal and Crammy and Mick have achieved record numbers.”

“We couldn’t be prouder to see Wave 96.5 growing across every daypart. We have seen that more people are choosing to spend their day with Wave 96.5 and the growth we’re seeing across key age groups really shows that we are the station of choice for the Illawarra.”

WAVE FM General Manager Ali Longhurst said “We’re a local station made for the Illawarra, and these results belong to our whole team who genuinely love what they do and the community we get to be part of every day. It’s incredibly exciting to see that connection continuing to grow.”
