Rafael Castro is joining the Los Angeles Lakers after being with the Houston Rockets on a two-way deal earlier this offseason.
Castro, who went undrafted in the 2026 NBA Draft, averaged 15.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.7 blocks in 27.3 minutes over 29 games at George Washington University during the 2025-26 season.
He is a two-time Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team selection and was named a finalist for the 2025-26 Lefty Driesell National Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Castro played for Providence (2022-2024) before shifting to George Washington in college.
The American-Dominican center will now look to compete for a potential two-way spot for the Lakers before the opening night of the new season.
