On the opening lap of the second TCM race, the Kiwi veteran was tagged into a spin at the Cutting by Adam Garwood, bringing several cars to a halt as he attempted to recover.

Dave Casey was the first casualty, having come to a stop during Fogg’s spin but was unable to get the car moving again, drawing the safety car.

Fogg took the win in tricky damp conditions in Race 1 on Saturday morning, beating Steven Johnson in a last lap battle following a late safety car.

George Miedecke rounded out the top three, leading home Garwood in fourth and Andrew Fisher in fifth after the group battled for several laps.

Marcus Zukanovic found the gravel trap at Turn 1 at the midpoint of the race, drawing the race-defining safety car.

By banking solid points, Johnson moves one step closer to securing his fifth TCM crown.

Johnson bounced back to win Race 2 ahead of a hard-charging Miedecke, as drama struck Fogg on the opening lap.

Johnson comfortably held the lead at the restart, while further down the order Rob Lewis’ Camaro started to develop a large amount of smoke.

Lewis came to a stop at the top of the mountain on the next lap.

With just two laps to go, Scott Cameron’s charge through the field came undone at Forrest’s Elbow.

Cameron had made up significant ground having started at the rear due to a mechanical issue in the opening race.

He spun on the entry to the corner and was tagged by Brayden Phillips.

Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia GR Cup

Liam Gerges took his first ever GR Cup win in Race 2 of the weekend on Saturday afternoon after a blockbuster mid-race battle.

Having been denied his first win in Race 1, the Walkinshaw junior hit back in stunning fashion, taking the lead after losing it momentarily in a spirited battle with Romeo Nasr and Ben Stewart.

Stewart held on to second place, while Will Thompson fought his way through to third.

Nasr was forced to settle for fourth, and Lachlan Gibbons rounded out the top five.

While the battle for the lead was intense, back in the pack was another level.

The race was called one lap early due to a pair of incidents on both sides of the mountain.

Kade Davey came together with Jack Szewczuk on the run out of The Cutting, sending Szewczuk into the outside wall, coming to a stop further down the road.

On the same lap, Kobe McInerney came to a halt at The Dipper after making contact with the wall.

Championship contender Brock Stinson drove from 27th on the grid up to 14th after crashing on Friday, steadying the gap to leader Cooper Barnes – who only finished ninth.

The following lap, Grant Johnson found the wall at The Esses after trying to run side-by-side with Jensen Engelhardt and losing the rear, drawing the safety car.

Sieders held the lead over Marjoram on the restart until The Chase when Marjoram pushed for the lead, setting up a multi-car battle in the top five for several laps.
