MACON, Ga. — What was once Hurricane Isaias has the potential to bring heavy rain and severe storms to Central Georgia this weekend. 13WMAZ issued a Weather Impact Alert for Friday and Saturday, as Central Georgia will see impacts from the hurricane, like gusty winds and heavy rain.

13WMAZ is tracking the latest updates on storm damage and road closures.

Latest updates:

11 a.m.: Georgia’s Electric Membership Corporation are reporting roughly 39,000 power outages amid their system. They say that crews have been working to assess the damage and restore power as quickly as possible. 

Those who are experiencing outages should report outages to their local EMC. 

10:30 a.m.: Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management says they’re responding to a couple of downed trees. 

Brentwood Avenue between Napier Avenue and Columbus Road/Montpelier AvenueTidwell Road near Eisenhower ParkwayDavid Road at Franklinton Road

They also say that a downed tree on Ingleside Drive is involving powerlines, which Georgia Power is responding to. 

Macon-Bibb EMA says that crews have already cleared trees near Kitchens Street, Norris at Emery Highway, Bass Road, Fort Hill Street, Jackson Springs at Briarcliff and Log Cabin at Mercer University drive. 

9:40 a.m.: While the tropical storm warning has been canceled for all Georgia counties, there are still potential impacts from the storm. Many counties in Georgia are still facing a high wind warning or wind advisories after the storm.

9:15 a.m.: Officials in Jones County says that they’ve experienced a couple trees down Saturday morning and some power outages as well. Meanwhile, in Washington County, Sheriff Joel Cochran says they’ve had no impacts reported.

9:12 a.m.: Gov. Brian Kemp has released a statement on X, saying that his office has been in communication with federal officials during the response to Hurricane Isaias. He says they are “in close contact and are ready to respond wherever needed.”

8:13 a.m.: Macon-Bibb spokesperson Chris Floore says crews are assessing any damage Saturday morning. He says people reporting damage can notify the 478-751-7500. 

8:04 a.m.: Meteorologist Dani DaSilva is breaking down the latest conditions in Central Georgia this morning. 

7:30 a.m.: A 13WMAZ crew on the scene showed the scene of a large tree blocking some lanes on State Route 19, or Emery Highway, this morning. 

A Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol car was on the scene Saturday morning. One lane of traffic, however, remained flowing normally. 

7:15 a.m.: Georgia 511 is reporting that a downed power line on State Route 74 past Cavalier Drive in north Macon. They say that is closing one left lane this morning. They say it started at around 7 a.m. and is expected to last at least an hour. However, that could be extended. 

7 a.m.: Meteorologist Dani DaSilva is breaking down the latest conditions stemming from what was once Hurricane Isaias. 

6:45 a.m.: A fallen tree in Macon-Bibb County on State Route 19 at Norris Street is closing the right lane, according to Georgia 511. That’s located near the Piedmont Medical Center in east Macon. 

6:40 a.m.: Across Georgia, 100,000 customers are without power Saturday morning, including parts of Central Georgia.

6:30 a.m.: Parts of Lamar County are without power, according to the police department, which affecting multiple parts of the City of Barnesville. Reports show around 345 customers are without power.

6:20 a.m.: Meteorologist Dani DaSilva is breaking down what to know about the current conditions stemming from what was once Hurricane Isaias. 

6:00 a.m.: Just outside of the 13WMAZ viewing area, the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning, impacting parts of Lamar, Pike, Spalding and Henry Counties. Those warnings last until 11:45 a.m.

5:30 a.m.: Power outages remain a prominent issue in Central Georgia Saturday morning, including in Macon-Bibb. Here’s a look at the impacts here in Central Georgia.

5:20 a.m.: Laurens County Emergency Management Director Bill Laird told 13WMAZ they’ve only seen two tree calls so far this morning. Those calls related to trees blocking roads, one at 2:15 a.m. and one at 4:17 a.m., but they were quickly cleared and the roads quickly reopened. 

5:10 a.m.: Macon County Emergency Management Director Roy Yoder says Tropical Storm Isaias has left just a few trees down Saturday morning, but the trees are not closing any roads.

5 a.m.: Meteorologist Dani DaSilva is breaking down the latest details on storm impacts here in Central Georgia. 

4:47 a.m.: Monroe County Emergency Services Capt. Christina Bramlett says that the winds have been noticeable in the county. They’ve received nine calls for roadways being blocked by downed trees within the past hour.

4:00 a.m.: The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says that Brooklyn Avenue towards Berner Avenue is closed until further notice, according to a notice. They say that downed power lines and fallen trees are impacting that area. They ask residents to use caution while traveling in the area. 

3:30 a.m.: Across Georgia, 50,000 customers are without power, including multiple counties in Central Georgia seeing outages.
