Beside the living room, the dining area continues the same quiet simplicity, free from excessive detailing. “The table acts as the anchor, while the surrounding seating brings softness and a more informal quality,” adds Kanpariya. “For me, this is where the more social side of the home comes through: understated and comfortable, but with enough personality to hold its own.”

A sliding partition allows the kitchen and dining area to open into one another or retreat into separate spaces. When closed, its reflective surface becomes an extension of the dining room, reading almost as a backsplash rather than a conventional door. Catching movement, reflections and fleeting glimpses of its surroundings, the screen maintains a sense of connection even when the kitchen is concealed. “The geometric grid adds another layer,” explains Kanpariya. “Beyond giving the partition its visual identity, it acts almost like a subtle visual guide towards the passage and the rooms beyond.”

Beyond the partition, the purple-toned kitchen introduces a bolder note to the home’s otherwise subdued palette. “Rather than trying to make the kitchen disappear into the overall palette, I wanted it to have its own identity,” says the designer. “The particular purple glass finish brings a sense of clarity and richness, while the brushed stainless-steel worktop and brass-finished cabinetry introduce a distinctly modern, industrial precision.”
