Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars is heating up — and the competition is narrowing as more celebrities are sent home each week.
The ABC show kicked off Sept. 15 with a new group of celebrities hoping to follow in the footsteps of Season 34 champion Robert Irwin.
This year’s cast includes familiar faces from across the entertainment industry, including Glee star Harry Shum Jr., 10 Things I Hate About You actor Julia Stiles and The Traitors’ Maura Higgins.
Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli are back at the judges’ table, with Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough returning as hosts for their fourth consecutive season.
But who was the latest celebrity eliminated from the contest? Here’s what happened.
Who left ‘Dancing With the Stars’ last night?
Guillermo Rodriguez and his pro partner, Witney Carson, were eliminated from DWTS on Tuesday, becoming the sixth couple to leave the competition.
For Week 5’s “Super Bowl Night,” the Jimmy Kimmel Live! personality and Carson performed a salsa routine to Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó.” The judges awarded the pair a total score of 22 out of 40, putting them at the bottom of the leaderboard.
At the other end of the leaderboard, Jenna Dewan and pro Val Chmerkovskiy tied with Ezra Frech and pro Daniella Karagach for the night’s top score of 36 out of 40. ESPN commentator Joe Buck joined the judging panel as a special guest.
“Thank you to everyone on Dancing With the Stars, thank you very much,” Rodriguez said. “I had a lot of fun. It was great. Witney, I love you for teaching me how to dance.”
Carson thanked Rodriguez for “making this season just so fun,” adding, “He has taken care of me so much throughout this entire season.”
Julia Stiles brought some Save the Last Dance nostalgia to the ballroom, 25 years after starring in the movie. The actor and her pro partner, Ezra Sosa, performed a jazz routine to Jennifer Lopez’s “Jenny From the Block,” revisiting some of the hip-hop moves from the 2001 film.
Sean Patrick Thomas, who played her onscreen love interest Derek in Save the Last Dance, was watching from the audience.
