The Sydney Sweeney Novig ad has gone viral for the “creative” way it uses her fame and beauty to advertise a brand new gambling platform. But at least one Dodgers player isn’t happy that the ad, and others like it, are impacting families trying to enjoy the MLB postseason.
Dodgers outfielder Alex Call replied to a post on social media criticizing the adult-oriented ads airing during playoff games including Megan Fox selling ED pills, R-rated films, and of course, Sydney Sweeney’s decorative sports equipment.
“Can we please get the soft porn ads off playoff broadcasts, TBS, Fox, NBC, @MLB? My son wants to watch baseball with Dada, but how do I justify that when a half-naked women could come on screen anytime?? This is America’s Pastime. Parents shouldn’t have to worry about this,” Call wrote in a quote tweet on social media.

Call is yet to appear in a postseason game for the Dodgers in 2026 and last played on September 27.
If you wanted to go a step further, you could talk about all the traditional gambling ads, alcohol commercials, and a lot of other companies who partner with Major League Baseball and other sports leagues that you wouldn’t necessarily want to put in front of your children. But those are the companies with the money and the money is what baseball and the television networks need to continue putting on these productions.
It is fair to say that the Sydney Sweeney Novig ads go beyond a lot of what has been televised. So maybe Call has a point there, as much as his critics may want to mock him for being Maude Flanders and denying the true state of American society and what you can find across all media platforms.
But if you really want to be offended by commercials during the MLB postseason, you should try living in a swing state during a midterm election year.
