At a food manufacturing precinct north of Adelaide, Delorean Corporation is building a new kind of waste facility: one that will take in tens of thousands of tonnes of organic material and send renewable gas into the city’s existing distribution network.

The company’s SA1 Salisbury project is designed to divert about 70,000 tonnes of commercial and industrial food waste from landfill each year. The waste will be converted into biomethane, biogenic carbon dioxide and biofertiliser through anaerobic digestion.
