Two-time Super Bowl champion Phil Simms believes the New England Patriots have established themselves as the NFL’s best team.
Appearing on “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams, the former New York Giants quarterback praised New England’s roster and pointed to Drake Maye’s recent performance as a reason for his confidence in the Patriots.

“I do also think New England’s the best team in the NFL,” Simms said.
When Adams challenged him to explain why the Patriots were better than the San Francisco 49ers, Simms pointed to Maye’s development as a passer.
“He kind of had a little hitch in his throwing motion, which was causing him to throw it where he doesn’t want the ball. And he fixed it in one week,” Simms said. “He threw the ball awesome last week for the whole game.”
Simms compared Maye’s potential to that of 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.
“If he keeps playing like that, then he’s like Brock Purdy,” Simms said. “Then, you know, he’s just going to be a guy that can lead his team to the Super Bowl.”
