The battle of wills and budget between Courtney and Sev and their landscaper Troy Lovett continues, with a frosty arrival on site following last episode’s awkward phone call.
Troy ignores Courtney’s “good morning” and leaves them in the dark as to how he plans to deal with their dwindling kitty.
“We don’t know if Troy is going to work until he’s exhausted the amount, if he’s going to finish the job and wear the cost, we literally have no idea,” Courtney says.
Never one to let tension hang in the air, Courtney calls a meeting.

Things are testy between Courtney and her landscaper Troy Lovett.
“I figured we’d all come together for a big, awkward chat,” she begins.
“Just to be clear, do you think I’m trying to screw you over?” Troy asks after they have some back and forth over unexpectedly high invoices and who should have had a contingency fund.
When the girls reassure him nobody is accusing him of dishonesty, the three are finally able to have a conversation about what can be deleted from this week’s plans to come in on budget.
They decide to get rid of a water feature, delete some decking and choose less mature trees.
“I’m going to be here for the week. I’m going to do all that I can to make it the best that I can,” Troy says. “I’m still confident that we’re going to do something really nice. If I’ve got to absorb the cost of all those bills that’s a conversation that I’ve got to have with myself because it’s on me as much as it’s on you guys.”
The “big awkward chat”.
With that resolved it’s on to the dispute between Adam and Jolene over access to their side yard.
The only way their neighbours Lisa and Rosco and Chantel and Wyatt can get landscaping materials into their backyards is via Adam and Jolene’s sideway, or through their own houses.
Jolene wants to block her nemeses Chantel and Wyatt’s access (though she’s happier for their mates Rosco and Lisa to keep using it) while Adam wants to keep it open as long as possible for everyone in the interests of fairness.
“We’re just giving access to every Tom, Dick and Harry. Adam doesn’t care. I’m fighting a battle all on my own,” Jolene says, frustrated with being “the b***h” and Adam “Mr Nice Guy”.
“You know when you get married to someone, you’re supposed to hate who they hate.”
“Doesn’t work with me, does it?” he responds.
But while Jolene seems keen to keep the unfriendly rivalry with Chantel and Wyatt going, she’s more inclined to properly bury the hatchet with Courtney and Sev after several weeks of them hurling insults ranging from “a***holes” to “c**ts” about another.
“We don’t want to leave The Block, the competition, the Block family and not have patched that up,” Jolene says. “We’ve put the weapons down. The girls have been our biggest competition, and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t intimated by them but I think they’ve been our driving force.”
Courtney and Sev and Adam and Jolene’s winners’ dinner is a surprisingly friendly affair.
Courtney agrees.
“Without them in the competition we might have pared back in a few rooms and not pushed as hard as we did.”
And so the stage is set for a pleasant co-winners’ dinner between the four and Scott Cam.
Not so pleasant for Wyatt, though.
Despite his landscapers the affable Cursio brothers’ best efforts, he’s thrown his toys out of the wheelbarrow over the grind of carting load after load of soil through the site to his backyard.
Wyatt sooking because he has to lift stuff.
For some reason his interest in picking up heavy things only extends to the gym and not any practical applications.
And he’s not all worried his massive sook is going to make him look ungrateful.
“I don’t care how it comes across. I am over it,” he says.
Cut to a pregnant Lisa pushing a laden barrow uphill full of soil.
Then it’s on to the final challenge of the season, a sports trivia competition in which all contestants fail miserably, but none better than Chantel who nominates Shelley Craft as the captain of the Matildas in a multiple-choice question.
“She’s the co-host of this show,” Wyatt whispers.
“No she’s not, are you joking?” Chantel
Chantel finds out Shelley Craft isn’t the captain of the Matildas.
