Police have charged a 28-year-old man after he allegedly stole two vehicles and crashed one into a petrol station in Western Australia’s south.

It is alleged the man entered a farm south of Kojonup on Mcillwraith Road and stole a Nissan Patrol about 12:15am yesterday.

Police said he then abandoned the vehicle a short time later at another property on Douglas Road.

The man then allegedly stole a second vehicle at the property, a Toyota Hilux, and allegedly crashed into a service station on Albany Highway in Kojonup.

Police said the crash sparked a small fire that was extinguished soon after, and have released dramatic CCTV vision showing the moment of impact.

The man is accused of stealing a number of items from the service station after forcing entry, before police arrested him.

He is facing six charges, including burglary and stealing a motor vehicle.

He was released on bail to get medical treatment for injuries allegedly sustained in the crash.

The man from Ryansbrook is due to face Albany Magistrates Court next month.

Anyone with information about the alleged incidents is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
