The World Health Organization (WHO) chief recognized Enhypen for its efforts to encourage blood donation worldwide.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus praised each member’s dedication to raising awareness of blood donation during a meeting with the boy band at HYBE headquarters in Yongsan District, central Seoul, on Thursday, according to its agency Belift Lab.

“Thank you for your work and commitment in promoting blood donation with the WHO,” Ghebreyesus wrote on X, sharing a photo of himself and the sextet.

Enhypen, in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross, launched a blood-donation campaign in January alongside the release of its seventh EP “The Sin: Vanish.” The campaign attracted thousands of blood donors in Korea that month and was later expanded to Japan and Singapore.

The members also donated blood in June as part of a project with WHO.

Ghebreyesus acknowledged a wave of voluntary blood donations worldwide that followed Enhypen’s campaign and the members’ own donations. The director emphasized that the singers and their fans can influence the world and drive meaningful change.

Enhypen also vowed to continue its goodwill initiatives with fans, known as Engene.

“We are grateful that Engene around the world have joined our campaign,” the band said. “We would like to make meaningful changes with our fans.”

Officials from the Korean Red Cross and the Ministry of Health and Welfare also attended Thursday’s meeting.
