The second division clash between the semi-pro teams was 8-0 to Llandovery with four minutes remaining of the first half when an off-the-ball scuffle resulted in the referee showing a red card to Ebbw Vale’s Curtis Gregory.

Replays then showed the seriousness of the act which saw the player dismissed — much to the shock of viewers everywhere.
Gregory was on the edge of the ruck when a Llandovery player was lying down with his arm around the leg of the Ebbw Vale man.
Gregory shrugged off the player’s arm, and then proceeded to violently stamp on the star’s leg with tremendous force in a reprehensible, unprovoked attack.
The victimised player got back to his feet and, understandably angry, shoved Gregory away before teammates intervened.
But footage of the incident published on social media has seen the stamp go viral and cause outrage among fans.
Zilch said: “Yeah that’s a lifetime ban. That’s actually p***ed me off, one of the scummiest things I’ve seen on a rugby pitch.”
Dave Rogers added: “Difficult to know how long to ban Curtis Gregory for here. But it has to be long. Very long.
“One of the most vindictive things I’ve seen in sport.”
VamosLaRojas reacted: “That should be jail time. Hiding assault behind sports just isn’t good enough.”
While Turf Studio responded: “Absolute tool. Disgusting, and not even the most bias Ebbw Vale supporter should have any complaints about a lengthy ban.
“Just glad the Llandovery player got up, shame he didn’t give him what he deserved!”
And Mark Mitchell said: “Should be a lifetime ban. Not only foul play, he aimed for his knee and tried to permanently cripple him.
“Absolute grub and a spineless coward.”
It has not yet been confirmed whether Gregory will receive a lengthy ban for the incident.
But Ebbw Vale did not suffer from the red card.
Despite being a man down, they somehow roared back to claim a stunning 31-15 comeback victory.
