Kingdom stars Grillo as Alvey Kulina, the owner of a struggling mixed martial arts gym that he runs alongside his girlfriend Lisa Prince.

Having retired from the sport, Alvey spends his time training other MMA fighters including his two sons Nate and Jay. However, Nate’s hidden sexuality and Jay’s substance abuse issues cause conflict within the family.
