The 1972 Dolphins shouldn’t celebrate yet, but the ranks of the undefeated were thinned again in Week 7.
The 49ers suffered a 29-20 road loss to the Falcons, dropping from 6-0 to 6-1 after an impressive start to the season. San Francisco had managed to power through a plethora of injuries, especially on offense, but Christian McCaffrey being forced to miss a chunk of the Week 7 matchup vs. Atlanta proved fatal.
The Chiefs, who were the NFL’s last remaining unbeaten team in 2024, joined the 49ers as previously-undefeated squads to suffer their first loss this week as well. Kansas City had zero answers for the defending champion Seattle Seahawks, falling 20-3 in the Pacific Northwest in what was one of the worst offensive showings in the Patrick Mahomes era.
While it may only be a matter of time until the NFL’s only wire-to-wire undefeated team knows its place in history is safe once again, the buzz will continue into November.
Here’s a look at which teams are still undefeated.

Which NFL teams are still undefeated?Vikings (6-0)
Do you believe in the Vikings yet? Some don’t because Minnesota’s offense has been inconsistent, but the defense is playing like the best in the NFL.
The Vikings are allowing an average of just 10.4 points per game since allowing 22 in their season opener, and they shut out the Colts in the second half on Sunday to keep their perfect record intact. Fittingly, Minnesota ended the game by intercepting Daniel Jones.
The Vikings have wins over the Packers, Bears, Buccaneers, Dolphins, Saints and Colts, but their schedule is also about to get much more difficult. Minnesota goes to Detroit, Green Bay and San Francisco in the next four weeks, with a matchup against the Bills also in that stretch.

Last team to enter November undefeated
No team started better than 4-0 last season, so no one entered November unbeaten. The most recent team before 2026 was the Chiefs in 2024, when they started 9-0 before a mid-November loss to the Bills.
By beating the Colts on Sunday, the Vikings guaranteed they will go into their next game on Nov. 1 with a perfect record.
