Brewers fans have “purchased more men’s and women’s NL Champion locker room t-shirts than fans of any previous league champion,” according to sources cited by Ricardo Torres of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. When it comes to all Brewers merchandise, beyond the locker room apparel, the buying spree has “surpassed large market teams.” Sales for Brewers merchandise outsold the previous benchmark set by the 2022 Phillies by “about 5%.” It is “unclear how those percentages translate into real dollars but it’s clear from the Brewers and MLB, this is something truly unique.” For Games 1 and 2 of the World Series, “gear-hungry fans at American Family Field waited in lines for an hour or more.” Brewers President Rick Schlesinger said, “We have seen unprecedented numbers once we clinched the National League pennant and started selling World Series merchandise. That’s where the numbers have really just skyrocketed to not only levels that not only baseball has not seen but we did not forecast or expect with our wildest and most aggressive projections.” The Brewers set a new franchise record for merchandise sold in the stadium for Game 1, and Schlesinger said that the team is “trying to be as accommodating as possible, even setting up tents outside the ballpark to sell merchandise” (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 10/26).
