Claressa had her first MMA fight in 2021.
She could be a solid purple or brown belt in BJJ by now. Claressa
quit MMA because it was too hard and went back to boxing. Since
returning to Boxing @Claressashields has only had 8 boxing
fights…the same amount of Boxing fights I’ve had while being MMA
World Champion. She picks and chooses the easiest road possible

Cris
Cyborg took aim at Claressa
Shields, accusing the boxing champion of abandoning mixed
martial arts because it was too difficult.

In an Oct. 27 social media post, Cyborg questioned Shields’
progress in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and compared their boxing activity,
arguing that she has pursued both sports while Shields has focused
on boxing.

Cris Cyborg criticizes Claressa Shields’ MMA departure and
predicts a first-round victory in a potential matchup

“Claressa quit MMA because it was too hard and went back to
boxing,” Cyborg wrote on X.

The Brazilian also suggested Shields could have earned a purple or
brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu since making her MMA debut in
2021.

Cyborg claimed Shields had competed in eight boxing bouts since
returning to the sport, matching her own total while reigning as an
MMA world champion.

“Claressa quit MMA because it was too hard and went back to boxing.
Since returning to Boxing @Claressashields has only had 8 boxing
fights…the same amount of Boxing fights I’ve had while being MMA
World Champion,” Cyborg continued. “She picks and chooses the
easiest road possible.”

The feud dates back several years. Shields has claimed she got the
better of Cyborg during a 2018 sparring session, and both have
publicly discussed a potential boxing match. In August, Shields
alleged that Cyborg had turned down a $2 million offer to fight at
154 pounds. The two have yet to meet in a professional contest.

I would beat Claressa
Shields in MMA without throwing a punch. 145lbs Vs 175lbs and
she still loses in the first round 🥋 It would be ugly. She might
never fight again.
