Former footy star Jimmy Bartel has welcomed his second daughter with partner Amelia Sheppard.
Bartel, who has two sons Aston and Henley with ex-wife Nadia Bartel, shared a picture of himself holding the newborn named Kaia Rae Bartel on Wednesday night, saying his little angel is here.
“Kaia Rae Bartel 28.10.2026,” he posted.
“Our beautiful little girl was in a rush to join our family. Aston, Henley and Paloma already adore their little sister.
“How lucky is she to have @milly_shepperd as her beautiful mum.”
Bartel and Sheppard welcomed their first daughter named Paloma in April 2023.
The footy commentator admitted then that he was a bit scared to become a girl dad.
“A few things are going through my head, well how do I do their hair,” he said.
“So, I am a bit scared to be honest.”
Bartel and Shepperd, who used to work in Queensland as an executive assistant, first went public in December 2021 and have kept a low profile.
Bartel hadn’t revealed on social media they were expecting another child.
The Geelong great split from ex-wife Nadia in 2019 and she has since moved on with Peter Dugmore.
Gold Coast star and former Demon Christian Petracca also revealed his baby joy on Wednesday, sharing pictures of his son Luca.
“Our hearts are full,” Petracca said.
Two days ago Demons midfielder and former Saints captain Jack Steele announced that last Thursday he and wife Jaz had welcomed a baby girl named Lottie.
On the engagement front, Brisbane ruckman and former Bomber Sam Draper has proposed to his partner Izzy Burgess while on holiday in Bali.
“Besties for life,” she wrote on social media.
Other footballers have gone a step further and made it official, with Carlton midfielder George Hewitt marrying his long-time partner Alice Summers on a picturesque beach.
