Major League Baseball is returning to Iowa next summer for a Field of Dreams matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Minnesota Twins, according to reports.The MLB is set to release its 2026 schedule on Tuesday, but USA Today MLB columnist Bob Nightengale reported on Sunday that the Dyersville site of the 1989 movie will host the Phillies and Twins in August 2026.According to Matt Gelb and Dan Hayes of The Athletic, the Field of Dreams Game will be a home contest for Minnesota.The MLB previously held games at the Field of Dreams site in 2021 (New York Yankees vs. Chicago White Sox) and in 2022 (Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals), but has not been back since.The movie site was sold and the temporary ballpark built for the games was dismantled, but a permanent stadium has since been built near the site.This is a developing story.
