But The Australian are now reporting Carrigan and partner Bronte, 28, are preparing to uproot their lives on the Gold Coast in exchange for starting a new chapter in Brisbane.

It is believed Carrigan may be proving his commitment to the Broncos through the big life move.

The lock, who is “investigating property options” in Brisbane, is currently representing the Kangaroos at the World Cup.

It is understood he will make a final decision on his living situation after the tournament.

Broncos coach Madge reportedly had reservations over the likes of Carrigan and Ben Hunt living far away from training.

Now those travel concerns are set to be a thing of the past if Carrigan makes the switch with sports broadcaster partner Bronte — who is looking to further her career on Channel 9.

Meanwhile, Carrigan spoke recently about the Broncos captaincy, and was not shy in confirming he would be honoured to take up the role.

He said: “It’s obviously a hot topic to be spoken about. I think it’s a privilege to be the captain of the Broncos and if that opportunity was to come, then I’d take it with both hands and lead the club forward.

“I’m lucky being there as well.

“There’s a lot of great candidates and whatever’s best for the club, I know ‘Madge’ (Maguire) will make that decision.”
