Selma Blair broke her social media silence Friday following her arrest over an in-flight meltdown earlier this month.
“Hi, it’s me. I know I’ve been quiet for a couple weeks since October 11,” the “Legally Blonde” actress said in an Instagram video. “You deserve to hear from me directly, and I’m sorry it’s taken this long.”

“There is a legal matter going on and my lawyers have asked me to not say anything about that day, and I’m listening to them. I take this very seriously,” she continued.
“What I can tell you, though, is very simple and the truest thing I know about myself. Not one day ever have I intended to hurt or frighten anyone a day in my life.”
Blair then apologised to those she has “disappointed,” “hurt,” “frightened” and “alarmed.”
“I am so sorry,” the 54-year-old said emotionally.
“And to the people that have written or called or sent wishes of love or caring, it has meant everything to me and my son, who is my world – as is Scout, who is also OK.”
Blair said she is going to focus on “taking care of [her] health and [her] son,” Arthur Saint Bleick, as well as those who support her “all with gratitude and love.”
The Cruel Intentions star was arrested earlier this month after allegedly punching a flight attendant and biting another aboard a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York.
She was reportedly placed in restraints while still on the aircraft before being taken into custody upon landing.
Blair allegedly kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head multiple times while being transported to the hospital in an ambulance.
She was also accused of assaulting a nurse at the hospital, who subsequently pressed charges against her.
911 dispatch audio from the incident captured the pilot requesting medical assistance and law enforcement officers when the plane landed to deal with an “abusive” passenger.
The pilot also noted that the “disruptive” passenger had left one flight attendant with a bloody nose and another with visible bite marks.
Additional audio captured Blair screaming after being removed from the aircraft.
At the time, Blair’s representative told Page Six that she had “experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct.”
Delta Airlines also addressed the incident in a statement to Page Six, saying, “Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behaviour, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first.”
In court shortly after the incident, Blair pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault and was released on bail. If convicted, she could face two to seven years behind bars.
Her attorneys attributed the incident to her having missed medication prescribed to treat her multiple sclerosis, as well as working “extensive hours” and “exhaustive hours” on set in the days leading up to the flight.
“These factors coupled with the altitude resulted in a state of severe confusion and disorientation,” one of her attorneys, Shawn Barnes, said. “This was not an intentional assault.”
Blair later broke her silence on the incident through her representative, who suggested there was “much more to this story”.
