MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A Memphis, Tennessee, man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for engaging in sexual activity with a minor under 16 years old, and stalking the minor after they turned 18.
According to court documents, Andreus Shannon, 44, worked as a basketball coach for the local homeschool association.
With his position, he groomed a 16-year-old basketball player and convinced her parents to drive the player to practices and scrimmages in Mississippi and Tennessee.
Shannon was sentenced to 144 months in federal prison and five years of supervised release.
