It’s official – Nick Kyrgios will team up with Gael Monfils at the Washington Open.
The pair will link up in the men’s doubles event in DC, which begins on Tuesday (AEST).
Kyrgios has not played a professional match since March, when he lost to Karen Khachanov in Miami.
His most recent doubles appearance was at January’s Australian Open, where he retired alongside fellow countryman Thanasi Kokkinakis in the first round.

Kyrgios, alongside teammate Monfils, will take on the No. 3 seed duo of Hugo Nys and Édouard Roger-Vasselin in the first round in Washington.
As the third match scheduled on the ‘Grandstand’ court, it will likely begin some time after 5:00 am AEST on Tuesday, July 22.
Kyrgios, 30, has battled wrist, knee and foot problems in the past few years.
He suffered an injury setback ahead of Roland-Garros in May, which also saw him miss Wimbledon.
The Australian will form an exciting partnership alongside the popular Monfils, who is renowned for his athletic and entertaining play style.
The 38-year-old Frenchman toppled fellow countryman Ugo Humbert in a thrilling five-setter at Wimbledon earlier this month, in one of the most memorable matches of the tournament.
Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe will also form a notable doubles pairing in DC.
