The number 10 seed lost the first set 7-6 before coming back 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 to complete the four game win. Musetti showed his experience and adaptability as he overcame Mpetshi Perricard, who is one of the strongest servers in the game right now. A gruelling first matchup for Musetti but he gets the job done.

Haddad Maia books her place into round 2 of the US Open but it wasn’t easy for her. Soney Kartal put up a fight, clawing back into the game to win the second set before BOTH players suffered injuries in the third set. Both players showed sheer determination and will to fight for every ball despite suffering but it was Haddad Maia who got the job done in the end. (6-3, 1-6, 6-1).

Maya Joint won vs Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (6-4, 7-6).

A comfortable match for the 2022 US Open winner as she breezed past Arango in straight sets (6-1, 6-2) to place herself in the second round of the US Open, doing so in just over an hour.

After losing a 14 game first set, the Italian came back to win 6-3 in set 2 to level the tie. An enticing game so far as Musetti is now finding responses to the powerful serve of Mpetshi Perricard.

World #2 showed a dominant performance in her first set of the 2025 US Open, a 6-1 win against world #84, Arango.

World #2, Iga Swiatek begins her 2025 US Open campaign as she takes on Emiliana Arango who is ranked #84 in the world. Swiatek’s 2025 campaign has been good so far, with a 41-16 win-loss record. She comes into this game as heavy favorite as she looks to add to her 2022 US Open win.

Day 3 begins with some enticing matchups. In the men’s singles, Italian star, Matteo Arnaldi faces off against seed #19, Francisco Cerundolo. With both players excelling on hard courts, it’s set to be a dog fight. Also staring off Day 3 in the men’s singles is Lorenzo Musetti as he takes on Frenchman, Giovanni Mpestshi Perricard in a game that should excite.

In the women’s singles, four games begin at 4 PM (BST) with the likes of Katie Boulter facing Marta Kostyuk and Suzan Lamens taking on Valerie Glozman. Shortly followed by seed #2, Iga Swiatek, as she faces off against Emiliana Arango from Columbia.
