BBC Radio 1 has announced the line-up of presenters joining the Friday Early Breakfast (Fridays, 5am – 7am) monthly rotation and Radio 1’s Life Hacks (Sundays, 4pm-6pm) this autumn, bringing some of the most exciting voices from the worlds of radio, sport and social media to the station.

Beth Wallace, Jack Remmington and Ash Holme are the next wave of presenters set to host Friday Early Breakfast which first launched in January 2021.

Kicking off the rotation will be Beth Wallace who will take on Friday Early Breakfast in September. Beth was given her first opportunity to host on Radio 1 during the 2024 festive period as part of the hugely successful Christmas Takeover – an initiative created by Head of Radio 1, Aled Haydn Jones, to showcase and support the next generation of presenting talent. She also presents a show on Scottish-based local station Forth 1 and was nominated for ‘Best New Presenter’ at the 2025 ARIAS.

Beth Wallace says: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be part of the Radio 1 team for the next few weeks. Radio 1 is a station I’ve always adored and it’s gonna be an absolute pleasure to kick start Friday’s, get folk in the weekend mood early. Laughs, good vibes and fun times coming your way.”

Taking on the slot in October will be presenting duo Jack Remmington and Ash Holme. Jack and Ash are presenters, creators and close friends who first presented on Radio 1 in 2023 as part of the station’s ‘For You Page’ takeover. Ash has built a following of over two million with her sketches and spontaneous talking skits and was part of this year’s Love Island: Aftersun panel. Jack is known for his sharp pop culture commentary, hosting red carpets and interviewing top talent, alongside co-hosting the BBC Sounds podcast ‘Famously…In Love’. Together, they bring their trademark humour and chemistry to everything they do.

Jack and Ash say: “We’re sooo excited to be back at BBC Radio 1 and this time soundtracking your Fridays through October – tune in to liven up your mornings and enjoy the energy and chaos we’re bringing your way.”

Additionally, whilst Shanequa Paris is on maternity leave, Charley Marlowe and Lina Nielsen will join Lauren Layfield to co-host Radio 1’s Life Hacks (Sundays, 4pm-6pm) with Charley taking over in September and Lina in October.

Charley has become a familiar face for her relatable humour and standout presence on TikTok. Known for her quick wit and approachable style, she’s also been the voice behind BBC Three’s ‘I Kissed a Girl’ and hosted Radio 1’s Friday Early Breakfast slot in August.

Lina is an Olympian 400m hurdler who has represented Great Britian at both the World Championships and the Olympic Games. Away from the track, she has spoken openly about living with multiple sclerosis, using her platform to raise awareness and inspire others through her honesty.

Lina Nielsen says: “I’m thrilled to have this opportunity with Radio 1 and the Life Hacks team. Having been a guest on the show before the Olympics, I’ve always loved catching up with them live on air. Now, I can’t wait to join as a co-host throughout October.”

Charley and Lina will also co-host The Official Chart: First Look (Sundays, 6pm-7pm) alongside Lauren Layfield.

Aled Haydn Jones, Head of Radio 1, says: “Supporting and developing new presenting talent is at the heart of what we do at Radio 1, and the schedule this autumn is a great example of that. I’m excited to welcome Beth, Jack, Ash, Charley and Lina to the station and can’t wait to see the energy and creativity they bring to their shows.”
