The AFL has confirmed the two Elimination Finals for Week One of the 2025 Toyota AFL Finals Series:

Saturday, 6 September
First Elimination Final, GWS GIANTS vs Hawthorn
ENGIE Stadium, 3.15pm AEST

Saturday, 6 September
Second Elimination Final, Fremantle vs Gold Coast SUNS
Optus Stadium, 7.35pm AEST/ 5.35pm AWST

The GWS GIANTS will host Hawthorn in the first Elimination Final on Saturday afternoon at ENGIE Stadium, before Fremantle take on first-time finalists, the Gold Coast SUNS, in the second Elimination Final at Optus Stadium.

“It’s been one of the closest races for the final eight we’ve seen, with the last spot decided in the final match of the home and away season,” AFL Head of Strategy and Scheduling Josh Bowler said.

“We’re all set for the finals series, with the matchups and timeslots for the two Elimination Finals now locked in too, and fans are in for an exciting few weeks ahead of footy.”

Earlier this month, the AFL announced a price freeze on entry-level tickets for all matches across Weeks One to Three of the Toyota AFL Finals Series for the tenth year in a row. Tickets for the two Elimination Finals will go on sale on Friday, 29 August, with timings to be confirmed tomorrow.

The fixture for the two Qualifying Finals in Week One of the 2025 Toyota AFL Finals Series was confirmed by the AFL on Monday, with minor Premiers, the Adelaide Crows, to host Collingwood in the first Qualifying Final on Thursday night, and the Geelong Cats to take on reigning Premiers, the Brisbane Lions, on Friday night in the second Qualifying Final at the MCG.

All matches in Week One of the 2025 Toyota AFL Finals Series will be broadcast live nationally on the Seven Network and Fox Footy and streamed live on Kayo.

The 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final will be held at the MCG on Saturday, September 27 at 2.30pm AEST.
