Alex Hales

Alex Hales has created history.

Alex Hales created history and etched his name in the record books during the league stage fixture of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) between Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) and Guyana Amazon Warriors. Opening the innings for TKR, Hales smashed a brilliant 74 off just 43 balls as they chased down the target of 164 in 17.2 overs. The right-handed batsman hit 7 sixes and 3 fours in his knock. Hales, a T20 specialist now, added 116 runs for the first wicket with Colin Munro.

Hales created history during his knock and became the first non-West Indies’ player to score 14000 runs in T20 cricket. He has 14024 runs in 509 matches. He sits second in the list of batsmen with the most runs in the shortest format.

Kieron Pollard completed the 14000-run mark a day before Hales achieved the feat. The star WI all-rounder has 14012 runs. With 14562 runs, Chris Gayle tops the list. The WI legend has 22 centuries and 88 fifties.

Hales has hit 7 centuries and 89 fifties. He can breach Gayle’s run tally soon. Pollard, who plays the role of a finisher, has 1 century and 64 fifties. He has also scalped 332 wickets.
