adidas EQT limited edition golf capsule

Retro-inspired apparel and a reimagined EQT 93 Golf shoe bring adidas’ iconic Equipment line back to life on the fairways.

The ’90s are back, at least if adidas have anything to say about it. adidas have just dropped a limited-edition EQT Golf capsule that fuses retro-inspired design with modern golf performance, and it’s already got us reaching for our Walkmans and bucket hats.

If you’re of a certain vintage, you’ll remember adidas Equipment (or EQT) from the early ’90s. Launched in 1991, the EQT line stripped things back to basics, focusing on what athletes really needed: no fluff, no distractions, just the essentials done right. At the time, it was revolutionary, blending sport and style in a way that felt ahead of its time.

Fast forward three decades, and adidas have dusted off that philosophy for the golf course. Enter EQT Golf, a capsule collection designed to hit that sweet spot between timeless tradition and today’s evolving golf culture.

Retro vibes, modern performance

The apparel side of the range is built to keep things simple but stylish. You’ll find a polo, reversible vest, quarter zip, and shorts all cut with a loose, athletic fit and constructed with adidas’ latest performance fabrics. The color story is pure EQT nostalgia: black, white, grey, and that iconic Equipment Green. If you know, you know.

There are also a couple of smart accessories in the mix, including a sharp 5-panel hat available in both black and white. Think of it as a nod to the past, but made to work with your golf wardrobe today.

But the real headline grabber here is the EQT 93 Golf shoe. Could it be in the running for one of the best golf shoes on the market? Early signs look good.

Initially introduced in 1993, adidas have given it a proper 21st-century makeover while staying true to the DNA of the original. Perhaps the coolest part is that the shoes have been designed by Toshiaki Omori, adidas’ legendary Japanese master shoemaker, known for shaping some of the brand’s most iconic silhouettes.

The shoes have a high-traction spikeless TPU outsole, adidas’ TORSION bar technology, and a full-length BOOST midsole for comfort that lasts all 18 holes.

“Omori-san’s attention to detail and precision craftsmanship is perfectly representative of what the EQT range means for our brand. Working with him on this project helped us reimagine the first EQT golf model through new materials, modern shaping, and precision pattern work, which only makes EQT 93 Golf that much more special,” says Masun Denison, adidas Golf’s Global Footwear Director

Why on course streetwear?

Golf fashion is in an interesting place right now. On one hand, tradition still rules polos, trousers, and muted colours dominate most fairways. On the other hand, there’s a wave of golfers (both seasoned and new) who want their style on the course to reflect their style off it. adidas is clearly leaning into that second camp with EQT Golf, embracing golf’s growing crossover with streetwear, nostalgia, and lifestyle culture.

“When adidas Equipment was introduced in 1991, it redefined what sport and fashion could represent through the core focus on providing everything that was essential for the athlete,” said Dylan Moore, adidas Golf’s Senior Creative Director.

We were inspired by that philosophy and wanted to bring a forward-thinking approach to that original intention, but through a modern lens that reflects what golfers of today are looking for from us.”

In other words, it’s performance gear, but with personality.

This limited drop is not to be slept on

Like any good capsule collection, availability is limited. Select pieces of the EQT Golf range, including the EQT 93 Golf shoes, are available from today via adidas.com, the adidas app, and select global retailers. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

So whether you’re a ’90s kid who remembers EQT the first time around, or a golfer who just wants to bring something fresh to your next round, this is one drop worth paying attention to.
