TCR Australia will bring up an unfortunate first next week at The Bend Motorsport Park.
Wall Racing, the team which ran Tony D’Alberto 2022 title-winning entry, has confirmed it will not take part in the event for which the World Tour is coming to town.
Never before has there been a TCR Australia grid without at least one Wall Racing Honda Civic.
It was already known that D’Alberto was not returning for this season, long before the local fixture was effectively condensed to one round, but the Sydney team had also previously run Hondas for twin brothers Brad and Will Harris.
“Well it’s been a ride,” Wall Racing announced via social media.
“Unfortunately we will not be running any cars in TCR Australia for this year’s world tour.
“We wish all the teams the very best and will hopefully catch them at the track sometime soon.
“Let’s see what the future holds for us within TCR.”
Minimal other TCR announcements have been made as yet ahead of the September 12-14 meeting at Tailem Bend, other than Hyundai-shod HMO Customer Racing stepping up to add World Tour stops in China and South Korea to its 2025 schedule.
