EXCLUSIVE: Aussie actor and Gold Logie winner Samuel Johnson has narrated many episodes of Paramedics, and in Season 6 there is one that has stuck with him the most.
In Episode 7, paramedics raced to help 35-year-old mum-of-two Tammy, whose partner David called 000 after she began bleeding heavily and collapsed at their home in front of her children.

“She’s got a couple of little kidlets zooming around, and her fella loves her as much as anyone can love anyone. It’s beautiful, and brought many tears to my eye,” Samuel recalled in an interview with 9Entertainment.
“[Tammy collapsing] was shocking for her kids, shocking for her husband, and for me, the viewer slash voiceover guy.
“I bawled in the booth.”

Samuel’s late sister Connie was diagnosed with three types of cancers over three decades; bone cancer at age 11, uterine cancer at age 22 and finally breast cancer at age 33.
She died in 2017, aged 40.
”My sister was just trying to be a good mum when cancer interrupted her life,” Samuel recalled. “So no surprises that I get a bit emotional and defensive when mums get interrupted.”

After narrating Tammy’s story, Samuel, who founded cancer charity Love Your Sister with Connie, said he was “going all out” to help her and her family.

“I love Tammy. Within eight minutes of TV, I love her. I’ve got her number, I’ve spoken to the family and we’re going strength-to-strength, but this is the kind of show that will knock you sideways.”
On Paramedics, paramedics Aaron and Laura rushed Tammy to hospital, where she received treatment for her pain and bleeding.
After chemotherapy, her cancer is in remission and she is hoping to return home.
It was a sweet reunion between Tammy and her family and you can catch it in the video below:
Even after so many seasons under his belt as the voice of the series, Samuel is impressed by the paramedics ability to “smile through a crisis”.
“Every now and then you’ll shack up in ‘serious town’, that’s the nature of the job, but thankfully there are so many situations saved, so many lives saved and so many smiles between the paramedics and the patients,” Johnson said.
“Tammy is an example of how emotional it can get, but overall, I’m leaving the segments feeling inspired.”
