A 20-year-old Tarneit man presented at Sunshine Hospital on Furlong Road, St Albans, with serious injuries at about 2.45am.
He died a short time later.
The exact circumstances of his death are unknown, but police are treating it as suspicious and currently believe it was a targeted attack.
