Alma Mater Footwear, a luxury sneaker company, has released its first-ever range of golf shoes which are available for purchase in select stores in the US and at Alma Mater’s website.

Alma Mater’s collection of high-end footwear is designed in California, drawn from years of experience crafting some of the most technical, functional and luxurious shoes in the industry. The launch of the Beta golf shoe range represents a new era for the luxury sneaker brand known for combining quality, style, innovation and craftsmanship.

“We wanted to craft the best golf shoe on the market, and that meant taking an entirely new approach to its design,” said Eric Sarin, the co-founder of Alma Mater. “The Beta delivers the comfort and cushion needed to endure the wear and tear of 18 holes of golf, but we paired it with an outsole that maximizes traction to offer stability and steadiness for each and every swing. And, at the end of the day, we crafted it in the high-quality, fashionable style that Alma Mater has come to be known for.”

After years of research and design, the Beta showcases a breakthrough in golf footwear with Alma Mater’s three-piece engineering – a new approach to golf shoe construction that provides greater stability and better cushioning for players, without sacrificing comfort or style. This approach was inspired by the design team’s experience in the world of running, noting that the most innovative designs and the best cushioned foam provide greater performance and enhanced cushioning for the world’s top runners.

The three-piece engineering approach features:

The Slipper – Alma Mater uses a midsole that features the same cushioned foam that is used in the world’s best running shoes. It allows players to have a better feel of the ground with the comfort of slippers.

The Gripper – The Beta features a spikeless design. Alma Mater collaborated with one of the leading makers of gravel bike tires in the world to create an outsole that offers better rotational traction. Every lug was designed specifically to engage and release as the player moves through the swing.

The Zipper – To hold the pieces together, Alma Mater uses a unique rand that zip ties the midsole with the outsole. It’s rigid in nature, but allows for a thinner outsole so the player can feel the ground and the foam, while keeping the shoe stable from side to side with a steady base.

The Beta Longwing is available in two colours and features premium leather and a nubuck longwing for a durable, timeless look, while the Beta Lite sports a technical nylon upper for a more athletic look and feel.

Both models are priced at $288 and at available at the Alma Mater Footwear website.
