Greater Western Sydney GIANTS star Kieren Briggs has made a surprise visit to his junior AFL club alongside the Premiership Cup as the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Cup Tour embarks on its journey across Australia.
The AFL, in partnership with Toyota Australia, is proud to launch the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Cup Tour – legends road trip across Australia, reaching every state and territory for the first time.
Earlier this week, the convoy of Toyotas officially hit the road, beginning a three-week journey through South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Victoria, bringing one of the game’s most iconic pieces of silverware to communities across the country.
Fresh from visiting community football programs in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, the Cup made a surprise stop at Pennant Hills in the lead-up to the 2025 Toyota AFL Finals Series. GWS GIANTS ruck Kieran Briggs, a proud product of the club, was on hand to deliver the Cup and inspire the next generation of footy fans.
“The energy around the club this week has been unreal. We feel refreshed, and the boys are up and about, ready to surge this September,” said Briggs.Â
“It’s obviously not a given that you make it to the top eight each year, so to not only be playing finals, but to be playing at home is a privilege and really exciting.Â
“Finals footy is next level – whether you’re running out in front of a sea of orange at home or facing the roar of a packed crowd at the ‘G’, playing footy in September is where you want to be.
“I love what the Premiership Cup Tour represents, bringing one of the games most iconic pieces of silverware to different communities across the country. To visit Pennant Hills, my junior club, alongside the 2025 AFL Premiership Cup was an awesome experience.
“Seeing the excitement and inspiration it sparked in the young kids reminded me of why these moments matter – it shows them what’s possible and keeps the dream alive.”

While the GWS GIANTS prepare for a do-or-die Elimination Final against Hawthorn this Saturday 6 September, the 2025 AFL Premiership Cup Tour will arrive in New South Wales and the ACT for its official celebrations from Thursday 11 September to Tuesday 16 September.
Stopping at community football clubs, Toyota dealerships, metro hubs, regional towns and iconic landmarks, the tour offers fans a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with the AFL Premiership Cup before it makes its way to the MCG on Grand Final day.
